Where Can I Find A Deal On A Disney Vacation??
I am going to disney with my wife and child this summer 8/13/07 thru 8/18/07 for a wedding and am looking for any tips or information you could provide us on how to get the most out of our vacation. I am trying to keep the costs down but still have fun.

Here are a few good money-saving tips for a WDW Vacation:
•Purchase your park tickets and rental car through AAA! A membership with AAA is required and a minimum 3-day park ticket purchase is required to save on park tickets.
•Purchase your park tickets at your local Disney Store! Disney Stores offer a small discount on Disneyland and Disney World tickets.
•Hint: do not sit through a timeshare presentation unless you are truly interested in purchasing a timeshare condo. The waste of a day is never worth a free ticket.
•When shopping for fun Disney souvenirs, stop by Mickey’s Mart at Downtown Disney. Everything in this shop is $10 and under!
•If your hotel has a fridge or kitchen, prepare as many meals as you can to save money on eating out. Take a PB&J sandwich with you into the parks and always plan to have a nutria-grain bar, cereal, or something quick for breakfasts each day. Making this choice each morning will save you about $50 or more a day!
•Bring your own autograph book! While the Disney autograph books are fun, they are a bit expensive. Before your trip, take your kids to a local bookstore or craft store and let them pick out their own journal or notebook. They can add fun Disney stickers or designs from the craft store. It will be a fun activity for you to do together and their autograph book will be extra special and personal! And not to mention, cheaper!

You need to visit your local travel agent. They are your best source to find (within your budget) the best places to stay.
I don’t know where the wedding is, but if you are not planning on visiting Disney more than once or twice, I suggest you stay far away from the crowded mess.
Driving is a nightmare.
If you are actually going to be in Disney a lot, then you should try an “in park” hotel starting from 100 for all star resort properties and up. You then don’t have to travel all over the place to get to Disney.
I have been dollar foolish many times. Pay a few dollars more to be where you need to be in this city. Like Las Vegas, you can waste hours traveling back and forth to things.
If the wedding is the main thing, you might ask them where the nearest hotels are to where the wedding is happening.
I would book directly through the Disney World website. (too bad the wedding isn’t a couple of weeks later- Disney is offering the Dining Plan for free during the month of Sept)
I go every year (once or twice) and I always book through Disney. I use the Magical Express service that takes me from the airport to my resort and then back to the airport at the end of my stay. (saves on car rental and this service is free if you are staying at a Disney resort) This will be perfect for you if the wedding is also on Disney property! (and if it is, may I say what a lucky bride & groom!!!)
I book my flight transportation directly from the airline’s website as I can often find better deals. (You can have Disney book it for you, but they only use certain airlines and I have always found cheaper airfare myself.)
I would suggest that you purchase the dining plan (I believe it is around $40 per person for each night of your stay. Less for children under 9) The dining plan offers one table service meal, one counter service meal and one snack for each night of your stay. You can book character meals which will use one of the table service meals, you can eat at just about any restaurant on site, (you should try to make reservations as early as possible, but you can still try to make them even from the resort on that day, but you might not have the time open that you want)http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/ind...
explore this site, you can even make your reservations here!
If you have a small child, you can still go on most rides, although you and your wife will have to take turns. Stay in line together and near the front of the lines on most rides there is a “child swap” area. One parent rides while the other waits with the child, then the first parent gets off the ride they “swap” and the other parent gets onto the ride without waiting in line!! Another tip to save some time would be to use any rides that have “single rider lines”. These lines use one person at a time to “fill” in the ride. Example: a ride seats 4 people and a group of 3 get on. That one empty seat can be filled by a single rider. We use this ALL the time and like it better than the Fastpass. The Fastpass is a ticket you can get at the front of some of the most popular rides. You slide your admission ticket into a machine and it will give you a slip of paper that says to return at a certain timeframe. (ex: “Return between 1:15pm and 2:15pm” .) You return to the ride during that time and you get into a shorter line and rather than wait 40 minutes or more, you get into the FastPass line and usually wait only a few minutes if at all!
Have a great time! and Congratulations to the newlyweds.

Look into renting a house. Prices start around $700/wk (7 nights) for 2-3 bdrms with your own pool minutes from Disneyworld. Kitchen, garage, pool, tv’s, dvd etc…Lots of web sites. There are no deals for Disney tickets. Buy them at Disney store for best price. Also try hotels on Disney property near Downtown Disney. There are several. Try Best Western on Disney Property. $90/night.
