Getting Married…?
We live in Philadelphia and we would like to go on a small honeymoon not too far from Philadelphia. We don’t drive yet and we are getting married May 2008. We plan to go to Disney World July 2008 but we wanted something small to do right after the wedding.
Any cool places in the surrounding area we can visit and find something to do.
I was told the Poconos, New York, Pittsburgh, Atlanta, Virginia, Maryland, etc. if you know about these places please let me know if there are anything for us to do there and a link would be helpful. Thanks.

Why don’t you go to the OuterBanks in North Carolina. Check out the town of Nags Head. It is really pretty down there. You can walk along the beach, go out to some fun restaurants, visit the sand dunes, golf, shop, see lighthouse, go to museums, just relax on the beach, etc. You would have a great time!http://www.outerbanks.org/
Someone mentioned the Outer Banks, and I agree. It’s only about a 6 hour drive and is EXTREMELY cheap when compared to the Jersey Shore. No airport nearby though (90 minutes to Richmond, VA)
In terms of being closer though there are a lot of Bed and Breakfasts down the shore and on the way there, including the Sugar Hill Inn in Mays Landing.
Without driving though, what about something small in AC (you can take the train)? After a buddy’s wedding a few years back, we went right to AC after the reception and had a blast. I’m sure you could probably find a place willing to get you a Honeymooner’s Discount as well. You can also take the train to NYC, but I don’t know as much about up there.
I also believe that there are a lot of B&B’s in Delaware as well. I THINK you can do this without a car, but try and head down to Cape May and hop onto the Cape May-Lewes Ferry. It’s like a 90 minute trip I think that will land you in Lewes, Delaware, which is only 5 miles away by bike path from Rehoboth Beach, DE. That place has blown up recently, and it’s beautiful down there.

Well…. NY, NY is alot of great deals shopping, the capital, Albany, NY is alot of clubbing, partying, and drinking (its where I’m from), and Atlanta is alot of gambling. Have fun whereever you choose to go!
